Using Google Alerts to make more Camgirl profits
The majority of my posts on the Camgirl tips and advice blog are mainly to do with the mental side of taking your clothes off for strangers, albeit for a lot of money, it's still a psychological roller-coaster sometimes and I have been lacking a bit on the technical side of camming. Why is this a big deal? Well, there seems to be A LOT of heartache over webcam sessions being stolen and put-up on a "Tube site" so some jobless goober can whack his hog. Boo that. So...if you enter your camgirl name like, "Lisa X" into the aforementioned Google Alerts then every time something NEW on the net with this text criteria (which applies to images and videos nowadays according to my SEO camgirl vixens) shows up, then I get an email (so convenient) with the link and textual information. I can then take action to take down illegal material. Or just simply defend my pretty little reputation! :) But I digress...

As with anything, strike while the iron is hot: emergency Holiday Camgirl profits
It is Christmas (and Hanukkah) time and it's a lovely time of year but there is one minor problem: the gifts.
Yes, the gifts are what the problem is, at least if you're a Camgirl. I mean think about it: there is always a "lull" of guys spending money during the Holidays in the Camgirl industry. The obvious reason is that guys are spending LESS of their discretionary income on private shows on Streamate, LiveJasmin, MFC, Adultwork, Yahoo Camgirls, etc. Yes, apparently guys spend money on gifts too so it is not totally shocking that this time of the year there is less cash coming to the chat models. And the worst thing about this "Holiday stinginess" is that there is also a sudden glut of chat models getting on Streamate/LJ/MFC ALL at the same time to make THEIR extra money for Christmas shopping. Yes, many virtual models don't necessarily do this type of work "full time" but they are definitely going to try to make some extra cash for Christmas gifts. So here you see the problem. Economically speaking, there is a sudden INCREASE in supply (Camgirls getting on hoping to make a C-note in a few hours) while simultaneously there is an instant "wallet-closing" phase (LOWER DEMAND) of the guys that normally visit a Camgirls chat room. That is a problem, to say the least. All...because of gifts. :(
With all this said, there is a way to combat such a situation (actually a few ways). The main thing a Camgirl model needs to do is to "ride the wave of privates" on good nights. Basically, if you can't STAY out of private because you're THAT busy then by all means, try to get as much money as possible, potentially stretching your normal camming shifts an hour or two. This way, instead of a decent night at say, $120, you could have a much better night at say $240 or so. Why this is important is because you MAY try again the NEXT night to duplicate good earnings (even during the "lean" Holiday times) and may only make $60 or so. I have seen this so many times in my own personal experience and many of the cam models tell me they experience the same "seasonal spending dip".
With this said, a way to insulate from the post-Thanksgiving purse-synching from the guys is to get your popularity UP and to constantly be networking when you're NOT on cam. It's easier said than done (there is a bit of effort involved of course) but it's also NOT that hard to be courteous to a Tweet from a fan (that could potentially lead to a really good, consistent-spending "regular"). This is a perfect example of how it is relatively easy to turn FREE marketing of Twitter, Facebook, etc. into CASH in your bank account. Being a Camgirl is like running your own small business. And some girls get obsessed with it and totally rape dudes of their paychecks! It's glorious! My point is, all aspiring young businesswomen (Camgirls or otherwise) really have to have their eye on the long-term of their business and how simple cordial exchanges with fans can really get you a lot of extra "privates" (hopefully through your OWN AlertPay and on Skype so you receive MUCH more of the earnings-this is called "Indy" and we'll get into that a bit later) in the long-term scope of things.
One last tip on how to get more guys spending cash on that A$$ during the Holidays: be consistent. I have definitely touched on the need to be consistent as a live nude chat model before, but it bears repeating because it is THAT crucial. When you are consistent you will get MORE guys coming into your room. Now, there's nothing wrong with occasionally doing an afternoon show or something to garner NEW fans, but you're "Happy Hour(s)" should be a consistent thing. Why? Simple. Guys are creatures of habit. And if they like what they see, they'll probably log in the next night and are more likely to succumb to the pressure to well, cum;)
Quick update: I have been super-busy the last few months so I apologize for my lack of Camgirl tips and advice but I promise I have many more profitable techniques to be disclosed sooner, rather than later.
